Dr. Alissa Grover ("Dr. Ali") graduated Valedictorian of her class from the renowned Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, where the chiropractic profession was founded. She completed an additional 220-hours of continuing education in animal chiropractic from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas. She is a certified animal chiropractor by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA). Currently, Dr. Ali is one of only a few AVCA-certified doctors in the entire state of Utah. Also a certified Reiki master, an initiate of Huna, and trained in the Masterson Method, Dr. Ali enjoys using energy work and kinesiology testing in addition to chiropractic.
Dr. Ali did her internship at Noah’s Ark Chiropractic in Geneseo, Illinois, a unique human-and-animal chiropractic practice. There she trained with Dr. Shanie Cahill and honed her skills in the art of adjusting. Dr. Ali and her husband moved to Utah in the spring of 2013, where Dr. Ali was hired by Animal Care Center in West Bountiful. Over the next several years, Dr. Ali was also contracted by South Valley Large Animal Clinic, Powder Paws Veterinary Clinic, and Utah Pet Rehab & Acupuncture. She spent nearly a decade working alongside and learning from her veterinary colleagues, an experience that she feels was invaluable for becoming well versed in the many health issues that animals may face. Dr. Ali loves working alongside other veterinary professionals, while being able to offer an alternative and holistic approach to healing.
In May of 2021, Dr. Ali opened the doors of her own private practice, Head to Tail Animal Chiropractic, alongside her husband's human chiropractic practice, Bountiful Spinal Care. It was always their dream to have a side-by-side office, treating both animals and their humans.
Dr. Ali has an alter ego as a musician, and she has a Bachelor of Music from the University of Iowa in music performance and education. She taught public school band for one year before deciding to become an animal chiropractor. Highlights of her musical career include winning the Drum Corps International Championship with the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps in 2007 as a mellophone player, and playing her French horn with the Mannheim Steamroller Orchestra in 2011, and performing as a concerto soloist with the Quad City Youth Symphony Orchestra in 2004. Dr. Ali met her husband, Dr. Clint Grover (also a chiropractor and musician) while playing in the Quad City Community Symphony Orchestra together. They enjoy playing in their rock band, Flat Canyon, and can be heard at social events throughout the community. Dr. Ali and Dr. Clint have also played with some local ensembles including the Salt Lake Symphony.
Dr. Ali and Dr. Clint are the proud parents of their two-legged children, Gabriel and Noah, and their four-legged children, miniature schnauzers Lily and Wiley.
Dr. Ali is living her dream by helping animals every day. She enjoys traveling throughout Utah to adjust horses, dogs, cats, and other animals.
Jordan Clark, Animal Chiropractic Assistant
Jordan is a graduate from Roy high school and currently attends WSU pursuing a Bachelors degree in Rehabilitation Science. After she graduates there she will be off to Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas to specialize in animal chiropractic like Dr. Ali. Jordan also wants to work with horses and dogs using Kinesiology tape to better their muscular health.
In Jordan's free time she spends most time with her horse Glenny. Jordan and Glenny participate in 3 day eventing competitions throughout Utah. Jordan has been riding horses and around horses for 10 years, from her love of horses she met Dr. Ali and fell in love with Animal Chiropractic. "If it wasn't for Dr. Ali, Glenny would not be where she is today and I would not have found what I wanted to do with my life." When Jordan is not with Glenny or at the barn she likes to spend time with her family, friends, and watching her brother's baseball games.
Jordan enjoys traveling with Dr. Ali to all of her farm calls, but loves to be in the office and see all of their dog patients too.
